Young-sun Kim, MD
Dr. Young-sun Kim is an interventional radiologist leading the Sonalleve MR-HIFU therapy at the Uterine Fibroid Center and director of the imaging center at MINT Intervention Hospital. He is also a former assistant professor of radiology at Hanyang University Hospital, and professor of radiology at Samsung Medical Center, Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul, Korea.
Dr. Kim is a prominent early adopter of the Sonalleve MR-HIFU technology. Since 2008, he has promoted the use of MR-HIFU for treatment of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis. He has published numerous papers on patient selection criteria, treatment strategies, (intra-procedural) therapeutic response readouts, and the effects of MR-HIFU treatments of uterine fibroids. In addition, he has not only presented his work at international conferences, but also has been invited to give educational lectures on the use of MR-HIFU for treatment of uterine diseases.
To ensure that MR-HIFU reaches a wider audience, Dr. Kim owns and manages a dedicated website in Korean (http://www.hifu.co.kr) to continuously share his expertise and experience, as well as the latest update in using MR-HIFU for treatment of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis.

Roberto Blanco, MD, PhD
Roberto Blanco Sequeiros received his Medical degree from the University of Oulu, and he has been working at Turku University Hospital since 2013. Dr. Blanco Sequeiros trained and practiced as an interventional radiologist in Oulu University Hospital and completed a 2 year research fellowship (2004-2006) at Brigham and Women´s Hospital, Boston, USA under the late Ferenc Jolesz, the pioneer of the interventional MRI and Focused Ultrasound Therapy.
After post doctoral period in Harvard Dr. Blanco Sequeiros worked as a Professor of Radiology in Oulu University Hospital until being nominated as the director of South West Finland Imaging Centre, Turku University Hospital, Finland.
Dr. Blanco has extensive experience in image guided therapy and MRI in particular. As the research group leader Dr. Blanco Sequeiros facilitates resources and provides collaboration and leadership to Image Guided Therapy (IGT) projects in Turku University Hospital. He actively participates in planning and implementation of several MRI related research projects and his main interest related to HIFU research is to establish a comprehensive clinical research center for HIFU research.

Prof. Holger Gruell, PhD
Prof. Gruell is a multidisciplinary scientist, who has focused his research on the field of medical imaging for image-guided intervention since 2004. Formerly, he was a professor at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology, holding a chair in molecular imaging and image-guided interventions, and Principal Scientist at Philips Research, Eindhoven, the Netherlands. At Philips, he was responsible for translational research in the area of image-guided interventions with MR-HIFU being one of the main research areas.
In 2016, he was appointed full professor at the department of radiology at the University Hospital of Cologne, Germany holding a chair in Experimental Imaging & Image-guided Therapy. His lab aims to expand the clinical applications of the Sonalleve MR-HIFU, as well as to drive the translation and uptake of MR-HIFU in clinical workflow. He is currently leading technology development, preclinical and clinical research for MR-HIFU applications, such as facet joint osteoarthritis, pancreatic cancer, hyperthermia technology, hyperthermia-mediated drug delivery, immunotherapy, and pain palliation for musculoskeletal diseases.
Prof. Gruell has a vast scientific knowledge on MR-HIFU technology and clinical applications. He is an invited speaker at international scientific conferences, educational workshops, and health care workshops where he presents his work and shares his vision for MR-HIFU.
